Count Your Blessings!

What a wonderful time of the year to celebrate and give thanks for all God has done for us! This has always been my favorite time of the year! I love the the fall season with all the beautiful colors of the leaves; the smell of firewood burning and the cold crisp mornings, sipping on a nice hot cup of coffee!! I also love the holidays that follow; Thanksgiving and Christmas!

As I look back on this year, I can truthfully say, "Thank You God for ALL Your Blessings!" To God be the Glory! If I seriously tried to count all my blessings, It would take forever!! He has kept His loving arms around meand as I have went through some of the most difficult trials. Looking back to reflect on this year, I see God's fingerprints everywhere! Working behind the scenes, doing what He does best!! In my darkest hour, He has always been right beside me and He has NEVER let me down, NEVER!

Every morning our feet hit the floor, we should be thanking the Lord for another day! We woke up this morning breathing the air God gave and eating the food that He has provided! We have a roof over us and a place to lay our head. We have been GIVEN eternal life!!!! What more could we possibly ask for?!! Many think that material things bring us happiness and if only we had..... but the fact is Jesus is the only person who can bring true happiness and perfect peace in our life! Without Him, we would have nothing to be thankful for because He has given us EVERYTHING!

It has always been a tradition around my parents table at Thanksgiving, to read a passage of scripture and tell one thing we are thankful for. Today, I want to share with you from my heart, some of the blessings in my life that I am so thankful:

1. God sending His ONLY Son so that I might have eternal life! The most loved and cherished verse is
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2. God's Precious Word! Where would we be without God's Word to guide us and show us the way? God's Word has been such a blessing and an encouragement to me so many times! It has lifted me up when I didn't think I could go on. This Book is truly a living, breathing, gift to us! Thank the Lord!!

3.I have been Redeemed bought with the precious blood of God's only Son, Jesus Christ! I am a Child of God!
I Peter 1:18-19 "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot!"

4. I have been Chosen, Accepted, and Adopted, into the best family ever! My Father owns it all, everything and I am heir!!
Ephesians 1:4-6 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.

5. I am unconditionally, completely, genuinely Loved! The world is looking for love in all the wrong places! They look for it in relationships, they look for it in money and material things but there is only One love that can satisfy all our needs and that One is Jesus Christ!

6. I am Forgiven!! No matter what, Jesus stands ready to forgive!! I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"

If you are a child of the King, you too share with me in those blessings above! We as Christians have so much to be thankful for. Not just this time of year, but all throughout the year and in every circumstance!

7. FAMILY! I am soo thankful for my family! I am thankful for my parents. I can't even imagine where I would be today without having godly parents that helped guide me to the Savior! I can't thank God enough for them and what a blessing they have been to me!
Material things are only temporarily, but my family and my relationship with Jesus is forever!

I have just named a few today but there are so many more! God is soo good! Even in the good and in the bad times, God is good! Job couldn't have said it any better when he said, "the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away;blessed be the name of the LORD. (Job 1:21) Job counted his blessings, even in the worst of circumstances! He had lost it all and yet he still stopped to give God the praise!! That's true thanksgiving, my friend!

I want to leave you with the lyrics of a song that is from my heart! I can't even begin to thank God for all He has done for me. He has loved me when I didn't deserve His love. He has forgiven me time and time again when He should have given up on me. He has included me into the most wonderful family ever!! He has ALWAYS been there! I sure don't deserve it, but yet He keeps on giving and blessing and loving me!!

Please take a few minutes and reflect on ALL the blessings God has bestowed on you! Begin counting them one by one! It will definitely surprise you what the Lord has done for you! Give God the Glory for all the great things He has done, the things He is doing right now, and the things He is going to do for you in the future!!

How can I say thanks for the things
You have done for me?
Things so undeserved yet You gave
To prove Your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am, and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee

To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory for th things he has done
With his blood he has saved me
With his power he has raised me
To God be the glory for the things He has done
Just let me live my life and
Let it be pleasing lord to thee
And if I gain any praise, let it go to Calvary
With his blood he has saved me
With his power he has raised me
To God be the glory for the things He has done

Happy Thanksgiving!
Encouraged in Heart.... United in Love
