Get Ready for Battle

Hello Dear Friends in Christ!

Have you ever felt like you were in a battle for your life or that the trials of this life were more than you could bare? If you are a child of God, you can count on being under attack by Satan on a daily basis. This is his sole purpose; to attack, defeat, and destroy anyone who will allow him.

Today I want to encourage you in the Lord, and give you some Biblical truths on how we can defeat Satan in our everyday battles and how to become victorious in our Christian walk! The Bible tells us in Romans that we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. Satan is a defeated foe! Jesus won the battle for us the day He went to Calvary!

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been in an extraordinary tough battle. The devil has tried every way under Heaven to attack
me and my family! Literally! He hasn’t stopped for a second. It seemed that everywhere I turned, Satan was there, throwing those fiery darts at me! I had a breakdown moment and called my mom, who gave me some of the best advice a mother could give! She said, “Jenny, stop what you are doing and "Put on the whole armor of God and pray!!” After I hung up with her, I knew she was absolutely, 100% right!! I felt so beaten down and so defeated. I didn’t think I could take another step in the shape I was in!! I had relied on myself to fix things and not God! No sooner than I got home that evening, I fell on my knees and cried out to the Lord to help me and cloth me with the armor needed to win the battle against Satan. I never moved until I felt complete peace within my soul! I got up and it seemed everything had just lifted right off my shoulder! Oh, my friend, God is so Good!!!

I heard this saying not too long ago and I love it; “Fear not tomorrow, for God is already there!! Praise His Name!! He has gone before us and He knows the outcome! He is the One who holds tomorrow! So, when the devil comes knocking at your door, just remember that God's Word tells us that we are more than conquerors!! Nothing will ever separate us from God and His amazing love!!

Romans 8:35-37 says, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For Thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:31 says, "If God be for us, who can be against us?"
These two verses have given me the strength many times to keep going and never retreat!

In order to get through each day and be victorious in the battle, we must "Be Strong in the Lord and the Power of His Might, and do just as my mom told me to do; "Put on The Whole Armor of God!!"

Ephesians 6: 11 says “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Never underestimate the enemy! “Spiritual battles require spiritual strength” and Paul describes to us the armor we need in order to get ready for the battle. Turn to Ephesians 6:11-18:

The Belt The belt held the soldier’s uniform in place. Without the belt he could not move quickly, and if he could not move, he could not fight. The “belt of truth” refers to the truth God has revealed in his Word. When we are discouraged and under attack, we must go back to the things we know to be true. God and His Word!!

The Breastplate The breastplate covered the vital organs of the chest, especially the heart. The devil is going to go right to where it hurts the most, the heart! He is going to throw accusations and continually bring up our past. If you have asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart, then God receives you as His son or daughter no matter what the devil says. Just remember to put up that breastplate of righteousness and remind the devil of this scripture;
"For He [God] hath made Him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him" (II Corinthians 5:21).

The Shoes In battle, a soldier must have good shoes so he can fight without falling. The shoes give him a solid foundation. "On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand! The Gospel makes men to be peaceable and gives peace to distressed minds. If our shoes are fitted "on Christ and His Word", we will have peace with God and with others!

The Shield
We must take up the shield because we never know when those fiery darts may come. In Romans 10:17 it says, "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Faith is so much to the Christian. It is complete dependence on God and His Power to do what He says He can and will do.

We've all had days like this; We wake up and the day begins. We feel strong and confident and everything seems to be just sailing along. We are getting things done and then.... Bam!!! Out of nowhere those fiery darts are coming from every direction and we are caught off guard. The devil’s attacks comes in so many ways. Without that shield, we can count on disaster!! What do we do in the moment of attack?? We must put up our shield and cry out to the Lord for help! Be confident that He will hear and be there to help us in our time of need.

The Helmet The helmet protects the soldier’s head. The helmet of salvation protects our mind, in which our battles are fought! It also reminds us that we are saved and going to Heaven! “If a soldier knows that the Captain of his salvation watches over him, he will not fear to enter the fiercest battle." We must never downplay the danger we face every day in our battle against the devil. He can attack us from any direction at once. We can survive if we know that we are truly a child of God and put our complete trust and faith in Him!

The Sword Hebrews 4;12 says, “For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Where would we be without the Word of God guiding our lives? I don’t even want to think about that! I would be wandering around in the dark! I Thank God every day for His Word to us! It’s an amazing, living, breathing Book! So many times in my own personal battles, I have quoted Bible scripture and each time it always brings me victory! This is definitely where the battle is won!

Paul saved the best for last, Prayer! "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit"
I could talk about this one forever!! Prayer is like God's Word. As a Christian, you can't live without it. They go hand in hand! Prayer to me is one of the most powerful tools God has given. When we come before a Holy and Righteous God and we humble ourselves, He hears our cries and He lovingly answers in His way and in His time!! If we want to see change, if we want our family saved, ask Him and He will give you the "desires of your heart!!" If you want to be victorious in the battle against Satan, you must be in constant prayer!! James 5:16 says, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Put on the “Armor of God” today, my dear friend and watch the enemy flee! He is a defeated foe and we are more than conquerors!

“Encouraged in Heart. . . United in Love”
JennyII Timothy 1:12
