IT all started out so calm and no contractions. They placed a pill to thin out the cervix around 8:30p.m. and by 12:00 the contractions began. Within an hour they were coming faster and harder by the minute. I tried everything to make her comfortable; I gave her a couple whirlpool baths and we walked the hallways with no relief. Finally around 1:30a.m. they came in and gave her a shot of "stadol" and that took the edge off for about 45 minutes and then it was back to the pains of labor once again! She had dilated to only 1 centimeter. I knew that this would be a long night and I didn't know that I could stand watching her suffer. The labor pains became so intense around 3:00a.m. Finally, I couldn't stand it anymore. I called the nurse and had them come in to check her and she had dilated to 5 centimeters quickly and was able to get the epidural around 3:40a.m.!!! Thank God for edpidurals! That's the best thing man ever invented for a woman!!!!

Our New Arrival to the Family!! Our Little Blessing from God
And labor begins. . . . .

The joys of labor!!! Looking good Doodles!!!
Getting ready for Boo Boo!!!

At 6:00a.m. K was ready to push but they told her to wait til the Dr. could get there. At 6:40 she began pushing and at 7:04 our little precious Xander Alan was born! I got to cut the unbilical cord! What an honor. A grandma nevers gets to do that but I did!!!! The Dr. was so amazed at how K only had to push for 24 minutes! God had once again answered the prayers of a mother! What an amazing night this was~ To watch a little life come into this world, knowing that the God of this universe had created him in his mommy's womb! I don't know how anyone could watch a birth and not believe in God??!
OH MY!!! A LITTLE BUNDLE OF JOY! OUR GIFT FROM GOD!!!!
How precious!

Great job K!! Great job!!

He weighed all of 7lbs. and 14 oz. and was 21 inches long! I don't know where he was hiding all this time??!!

As you can see, K needed a Starbucks, a Mt. Dew, and a cinnamon roll after having the night she had!!!

I can't even express the love I have for this little man! It's an incredible love, overwhelming and so pure and sweet!
Ashley loving on little Boo Boo!
Abby getting in on the lovin' too~
